David Ogilvy on Hiring People Smarter Than You!

5 Jan

Now that I have started the process of pursuing a Masters in Business Administration I have opted in to many email blasts that send out a daily or weekly lesson, which contain {relatively} pertinent information to this endeavor. Regarding the hiring of new employees, the following lesson comes from David Ogilvy, Co-Founder of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising and known to many as “The King of Madison Avenue.”

“If each of us hires people who are smaller than we are, we shall become a company of dwarfs. But if each of us hires people who are bigger than we are, we shall become a company of giants.”
